Poetry to the Point

Re: Versing the Damage - Notes from the Climate Journey aka issue 11 of The Nail is now out: please contact Sophie Dunstan for your copy. For more information on Re: Versing the Damage please click here.

The Nail is a performance poetry magazine and the written partner of Hammer and Tongue, host of the UK's best poetry slams.

Yes, performance poetry and the page are strange bedfellows, but that's how we like it. The first poems were created to be heard, and writing helped poets to remember their lines. To read about the history of the Nail, click here

The Nail is published three times a year. If you would like to submit a poem or illustration, we'd love to hear from you. Please go to submissions for guidelines and deadlines.

The Nail is now accepting submissions for issue 12, which is on the theme of Health, Community and the Caring Relationship. For more information and inspiration, please click here.

Previous issues of the Nail are here for your perusal. If you like what you read, you can also order or subscribe to the Nail online!

Community and connectedness make life worth living, and there are many exciting poetry and spoken word events around the country. Please check out our listings for recommended happenings, particularly in Oxford.
